British Bell Tea Room

They have closed their doors for good! My soul aches. This was my quiet place. They will be missed by our community😭

It has really gone downhill. Scones are so tiny and not fresh. For one of the desserts, they actually broke a cookie in half. Sandwiches were ok, but they have skimped on the Roast Beef sandwich as well. I couldn't believe the lemon butter. It used to be smooth and creamy, this was clotted up and didn't even taste like lemon. Not sure what we were served. Won't be going back anytime soon.

We attempted to hire British Bell to cater a work even, which they have done in the past. They said they would be happy to do it, took our order then did not return our calls or provide any information to us. We had to scramble at the last minute the day before to find something else for 50 people! Very unhappy with our treatment this time around, considering how great things had been before.

My most recent visit here has me wondering if I'll ever go back. I asked them to make me roast beef and swiss sandwiches without mustard. When they came out the door with mustard, I politely pointed it out. Instead of them making me new sandwiches, they cut out the middle of the bread, and put the meat and cheese back onto the bread crusts. As if we wouldn't notice that the meat still had mustard on it, and the bread suddenly was just empty crusts... soooo. I don't think I'll be going back.

My husband bought 8 chocolate chip scones to go as a special treat. At home we open the styrofoam packages (used to be clear so as to see the product) to find much smaller, flat, stale, & tasteless scones. Such a surprise given the difference in the scones that we had bought in the past. Took the product back, & was told that could not get a refund. I asked to sample today’s scone and found the same product as bought the day before. Left the store 10$ poorer & wondering how long this place will stay in business.

Rude, rude, rude, and extremely unprofessional. We had planned for many weeks to come here for my daughter’s eighth birthday. We came from NJ. We even bought a groupon ahead of time, and now we are out that money because the restaurant refuses service and groupon will not issue a refund. We were turned away because they said they were understaffed. I was appalled. Here we were with our three girls to have their fancy birthday tea. I told them so. She was unapologetic, said we had to leave because they “had no tables available.” Not even a “happy birthday.” Just so rude, I was appalled. Note: There were a ton of tables available. We will never ever be back.

Had an amazing time at the tea room for my daughter's birthday. The service, tea, and food were great. We will definitely be back and would love to use the private room next time!
